Start with Toyota Financial lease's process
The destination state controls registration and still decides what document it can use and where it must go. The lessor handles the title it holds, and the two paths need to meet before the state can finish the transfer.

Tell the destination office that the vehicle is leased. Toyota says Toyota Motor Credit Corporation (TMCC) or Toyota Lease Trust must be listed as the legal owner or lessor on all title and registration documents, and that the office will either send Toyota the request or give it to you to forward.
- 02Use the approved channel
In Toyota Financial's Support Center, create a new Title/Registration Request, choose State Transfer, and include the destination office's instructions and any other information Toyota will need.
- 03Plan for the handoff
Toyota says you need a limited power of attorney form to re-title the vehicle, and that you stay responsible for all fees and expenses for the paperwork. Most of these documents must be notarized, and Toyota mails them to you, so start before the registration deadline.
