Five different answers
Ask which status you actually have
“Sent” is one checkpoint, not the finish line.
- 01Requested
The correct provider channel accepted the request.
- 02Sent
The title holder names the document, date, and recipient.
- 03Delivered
Tracking or another record shows arrival.
- 04Matched
The agency associates it with your transaction.
- 05Usable
The office confirms the document can move the registration forward.
Official lookup
Check the agency when it publishes a tool
New York publishes a title and lien status lookup. Other states may require the office handling the transaction to confirm an incoming lender document.
Optional saved handoff
Keep each title status separate
- Provider and state instructions
- Request notes and follow-up dates
- Milestones you update as the handoff moves
- Direct handoff for logins, signatures, fees, or visits
One-time $89. We show the work, terms, exclusions, price, and delivery date before payment.
Title request status questions
- How do I know whether the DMV received my title?
- First get the document name, send date, recipient, and delivery evidence from the title holder. Then ask the destination office whether it received and matched that document to your transaction. Delivery and DMV acknowledgement are different statuses.
- Can I check a lienholder title request online?
- Some agencies publish a title or order lookup. Many do not show an incoming lender document online. Use the official lookup when one exists, then confirm the transaction with the office handling it.
- What can I keep in the saved title handoff?
- Keep the lender and state instructions, request notes, follow-up dates, sending status, agency receipt, and usable proof in one checklist.
