What to do with New Hampshire plates after moving to Delaware

Delaware comes first

Complete the replacement record

Title and register the vehicle within 60 days after becoming a Delaware resident.

Arrange liability coverage accepted by Delaware before the transaction. DMV requires current proof and does not accept a photo or ordinary printout of an insurance card.

New Hampshire closeout

Update the New Hampshire vehicle record within 30 days

After the destination registration is active, notify New Hampshire DMV in writing of the old and new address within 30 days. Keep a copy of the notice with the new registration so you can show when the vehicle record was updated.
