Switch car insurance from Arkansas to Indiana

Activate coverage Indiana will accept before the registration transaction. Do not cancel the Arkansaspolicy until the new registration is active and the old record is closed correctly.

    Activate Indiana coverage

    Provide financial-responsibility information when purchasing the Indiana plate and registration.

    Complete the destination registration

    Apply for the Indiana title and registration within 60 days after becoming a resident to avoid the title-transfer administrative penalty.

    Close Arkansas

    After the destination registration is active, use Arkansas DFA's Change Your Renewal Address service to update the mailing address on the vehicle registration. Save the confirmation with the new registration so later Arkansas notices do not disappear at the old address.

    End or rewrite the old policy

    Confirm effective dates with both insurers after the old registration is safely closed.
