Switch car insurance from Vermont to Arkansas

Activate coverage Arkansas will accept before the registration transaction. Do not cancel the Vermontpolicy until the new registration is active and the old record is closed correctly.

    Keep Vermont registration-supported coverage active while the vehicle is still recorded there.

    Activate Arkansas coverage

    Bring proof of insurance for the registration transaction and keep the policy supporting the prior registration active until that registration is safely closed.

    Complete the destination registration

    Title and register the vehicle at an Arkansas state revenue office within 60 calendar days after becoming a resident.

    Close Vermont

    After the destination registration is active, notify Vermont DMV of the new mailing and physical address within 30 days. The corrected-registration form can update the address across DMV records. Keep a copy of the submitted form with the new registration.

    End or rewrite the old policy

    Confirm effective dates with both insurers after the old registration is safely closed.
