Start with Ally Auto's process

The destination state controls registration and still decides what document it can use and where it must go. The lender handles the title it holds, and the two paths need to meet before the state can finish the transfer.

    Check the destination motor vehicle department's registration requirements first. Ally says a state that needs the prior title will require title information to go through its title service.

  2. 02Use the approved channel

    Ally says that if your current state requires a title from your previous state, you need to fax your title information to PDP Services at 1-410-584-1691. Lease customers should contact Ally for a power of attorney when one is required.

  3. 03Plan for the handoff

    Ally does not publish one nationwide turnaround time on this page. Start before the destination deadline and have the new physical garaging address ready.
