Exeter Finance title transfer: move your financed car to another state
Exeter Finance's FAQ lists P.O. Box 166008, Irving, TX 75016 for title and registration forms after a move. Your new state's office names the forms. Then match these steps to your new state's title rule below and build the request before the title moves.
Start with Exeter Finance's process
The destination state controls registration and still decides what document it can use and where it must go. The lender handles the title it holds, and the two paths need to meet before the state can finish the transfer.
- 01Start here
Visit the destination tax or motor vehicle office, explain that the vehicle is financed, and make sure the office records Exeter Finance as the lienholder.
- 02Use the approved channel
Ask the destination office which title or registration forms it needs, then send them to Exeter Finance, P.O. Box 166008, Irving, TX 75016. Exeter's FAQ lists this as the address for all forms related to titles and registration. General customer support is (800) 321-9637, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM CT and Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT.
- 03Plan for the handoff
Exeter does not publish one interstate transfer turnaround in its FAQ. Start before the destination tag deadline and confirm when the office sends or receives each required item.

Some states want an original title, others accept a copy, lien letter, or registration-only path, and some require the local office to start the request. We will combine Exeter Finance's move path with the destination state's title rule. No VIN or account number is collected.
Every step above stays free.
