Start with Regional Acceptance's process

The destination state controls registration and still decides what document it can use and where it must go. The lender handles the title it holds, and the two paths need to meet before the state can finish the transfer.

  1. 01Start here

    Ask the destination title office which title-change documents it wants, then prepare the title change request for Regional Acceptance and keep copies of the request and supporting papers.

  2. 02Use the approved channel

    Send the title change request by fax to 866-611-0993, by email to RACtitles@regacc.com, or by mail to Regional Acceptance, Attn: Document Control, 1424 E Fire Tower Rd., Greenville, NC 27858.

  3. 03Plan for the handoff

    Regional Acceptance warns that converting an electronic title can take the motor vehicle office 30 days or longer. Track the lender submission and the state conversion as separate milestones.
