Start with Chrysler Capital's process

The destination state controls registration and still decides what document it can use and where it must go. The lender handles the title it holds, and the two paths need to meet before the state can finish the transfer.

  1. 01Start here

    Ask the destination motor vehicle office what it needs. The chryslercapital.com website now redirects to Santander Consumer USA, so use Santander's Titles page for the state-change request.

  2. 02Use the approved channel

    Contact the State Titling Division for a formal request, then send that request to Santander by mail (Santander, Titles Department, 1601 Elm St., Dallas, TX 75201) or by fax (214-237-3549). Santander Consumer USA lists 800-526-0157 for titles, Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT. That is Santander's number, not a confirmed Chrysler Capital lease line, and Santander's Titles page describes no separate lease process, so lessees should confirm lease steps with Santander.

  3. 03Plan for the handoff

    Santander's Titles page says printing an electronic title averages four to six weeks, and the new state should then receive the title within fifteen business days after Santander gets the printed title. It gives no lease-specific time, so start before the destination deadline and record the request date.
