  1. 1. Check when the application becomes due

    Register the motorhome and obtain the Nevada driver license within 30 days after becoming a resident. If the license is obtained sooner, the vehicle-registration deadline moves to that earlier date.

  2. 2. Prepare the correct ownership record

    Bring the out-of-state title unless a lienholder holds it. Nevada permits an unchanged owner to retain the prior title, while a security agreement from a licensed financial institution can stand in for the title during registration. Keep the motorhome's record separate from every towed car or trailer.

  3. 3. Complete identification and inspection

    Complete the out-of-state VIN inspection on VP 015. A qualifying gasoline-powered RV, and a diesel RV up to 14,000 pounds GVWR, needs annual emissions testing when based in the covered urban areas of Clark or Washoe County; location, model year, power source, and other listed exemptions still control.

  4. 4. Register the correct vehicle class

    Title and register a motorhome under Nevada's ordinary vehicle fees and Governmental Services Tax rules, with Nevada-issued insurance in the registration names. RVs and motorhomes are exempt from odometer reporting. A towable fifth wheel follows the trailer's separate insurance and registration treatment.

A personal RV at 26,001 pounds or more requires the matching noncommercial Class A or B license. Endorsement J is required to tow a vehicle over 10,000 pounds GVWR, and a combination rated at 26,001 pounds or more with a towed vehicle over 10,000 pounds requires Class A. Written and skills tests apply.
