Paid off your Lendbuzz loan? Getting the lien release and title
Lendbuzz says some states use electronic lien and title programs, in which no paper title may have been created and the state holds an electronic record that is printed only on request of the lien holder or registered owner at payoff. If Lendbuzz sends you a paper title, it advises applying at your local motor vehicle office for a clear, lien-free title, because the lien stays attached to the VIN in the state's system until the registered owner asks to remove it and shows proof of payment. In title-holding states you send Lendbuzz a front and back copy of your title, and once the loan is paid off it sends a notarized lien release letter.
How to ask Lendbuzz for the release or title
If nothing arrived, see the next step below.
Email title@lendbuzz.com or call (857) 999-0250 to ask for an additional release of lien or a photocopy of the title. For a title sent to another state's titling agency, that agency mails, faxes, or emails a request to the Lendbuzz Title Department.
If it never arrived: Lendbuzz says that if you do not get a lien-free title and the paper title is later misplaced or damaged, you must contact Lendbuzz for a release of lien before your state will issue a duplicate title. It says the lien-free title fee varies by state and that there is usually a fee for the release of lien.
