Paid off your PNC Auto loan? Getting the lien release and title
PNC says that when a vehicle-secured loan is paid off, the title or lien is released according to state guidelines and you receive a Paid in Full letter at the account address within 7 to 10 days. If PNC holds a paper title it mails it with the Paid in Full letter. If PNC did not hold a paper title (for example, in a state where the customer keeps the title) or the vehicle has an electronic title, only the Paid in Full letter arrives, and for an electronic title the PNC lien is released.
How to ask PNC Auto for the release or title
If nothing arrived, see the next step below.
PNC names VehicleTitleMyWay.com, a service from BerkOne, for lien satisfaction letter requests and duplicate title documentation, for reasons such as a trade-in, insurance, donation, sale, warranty or GAP request, or a missing title. For other reasons PNC says the request must go through your state's DMV.
If it never arrived: PNC says to use Online Banking or contact PNC to confirm the account is paid in full and closed and that the account address is correct. If the letter still has not arrived, use VehicleTitleMyWay.com, which PNC says will provide a lien satisfaction letter request as soon as 7 business days after the loan is paid in full.
