Paid off your Genesis Finance loan? Getting the lien release and title
Genesis Finance says that once a finance account is paid in full it notes its lien release on the vehicle's title and mails it to the primary address on record, unless you designated another address when paying off online.
How to ask Genesis Finance for the release or title

Everything Genesis Finance says about payoff
Genesis Finance says that once a finance account is paid in full it notes its lien release on the vehicle's title and mails it to the primary address on record, unless you designated another address when paying off online. A paper title still shows Genesis's lien but carries a signature releasing its interest, and Genesis says to take the signed-off title to the DMV to have a free and clear title issued. In states with electronic titles, Genesis releases the lien electronically, the DMV mails the title, and Genesis sends a paid-in-full letter that explains how to request a paper title at the DMV. Genesis lists these electronic-title states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, LA, MD, MA, MI, MS, NE, NV, NC, PA, SC, SD, TX, VA, WV, WI. In MO, MN, MT, NY and KY, Genesis sends a lien release statement to take to your local DMV. In IL, MI, MO, NE, PA, RI and VT it also mails the original or a copy of the retail installment contract, as required by law. Another Genesis FAQ answer gives the same 15 and 10 day counts without the word business, so confirm which applies. Genesis lists lease buyouts under a separate process, so this page covers a paid-off finance account.
Log in to your Genesis Finance account to request a payoff, to designate the address for the title when you pay off online, and to follow the release with Genesis's Title Tracker, which is available after you log in.
If it never arrived: In electronic-title states, Genesis says to contact your local DMV if you do not receive a paper title within 30 calendar days. In Florida you must contact your local DMV to have the paper title printed, and state fees apply. In California and Pennsylvania the DMV mails the printed title to the address on your registration. In MO, MN, MT, NY and KY, contact your local DMV if you did not receive a title after your purchase. Genesis also says DMVs are currently taking 45 to 180 days for a number of requests, including mailing paid-in-full titles.
Want it in writing? Build a free request letter for your records. It never asks for your VIN or loan number.
