Is a generic lienholder title request letter enough?
Not always. Some states publish their own request form, require the title to go to a named office, or accept a substitute when the lender keeps the original. Use the linked state source before sending the request.
Where should the lender send the title?
The recipient depends on the destination. It may be the owner, a state title unit, a county office, or another named agency recipient. Confirm the exact recipient and delivery method before the lender sends anything.
Can I put my VIN or loan number into this tool?
No. Build and print the request without sensitive identifiers. Add anything the lender requires only in its approved portal, form, fax, mail, or other secure channel.
